System Overview

BADGER Control is Taiwan UAS Group's proprietary autonomy platform — a domain-agnostic intelligence system engineered to operate across Aerial (UAV), Ground (UGV), and Underwater (UUV) platforms. BADGER is built on three integrated pillars that together deliver a complete autonomous operations capability.

Pillar 1 — AI Flight Intelligence

  • Compute: NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin — 248 TOPS edge AI processing
  • AI-Driven PID Control: Neural-network adaptive stabilization compensating for wind shear, payload shifts, and motor asymmetry in real time
  • HiveMind Light Show Coordination: Multi-unit autonomous coordination for logistics networks, search patterns, and synchronized multi-aircraft operations
  • Cross-Domain Compatibility: UAV · UGV · UUV — same software core, platform-specific hardware interface layers
  • Autonomous Mission Execution: Full waypoint navigation, geofence enforcement, return-to-home, and emergency landing without pilot input

Pillar 2 — Hybrid Omnidirectional DAA

BADGER integrates three independent sensor modalities into a unified threat detection and avoidance layer — no single point of failure, no detection blind spots:

  • OUSTER OS1 MAX 256 LiDAR: 360-degree real-time point cloud mapping. Precision 3D obstacle detection and terrain following at operational altitudes
  • Smartmicro DRVEGRD 169 Radar: All-weather omnidirectional radar. Detects high-speed objects and provides coverage in rain, fog, and low-visibility conditions where LiDAR performance degrades
  • Proprietary Binocular Vision: In-house designed stereoscopic visual ranging system for precision close-range DAA — the final layer before physical contact with obstacles

The three sensor streams are fused in real time by the Jetson AGX Orin, producing a unified environmental model that triggers evasive maneuver planning with sub-second reaction times.

BADGER Control is available as a factory-integrated option across the complete Taiwan UAS Group fleet: Umbrella · Umbrella X · Hydra Series · Rhino Series · Coyote. Available as a retrofit module for compatible third-party platforms.
